Employee Stock Ownership Plan
(ESOP)
Effective October 1, 2000 BEM became an employee-owned company.
One of the main reasons for forming an ESOP was to enhance
BEM’s entrepreneurial culture by providing an opportunity
for employees to share in the value they help create. An ESOP
is a retirement benefit provided at no cost to BEM’s
employees.
- Eligibility – Eligible on the first day of the Plan
Year during which you complete 1,000 Hours of Service.
- Vesting – Years of Service for Vesting will be counted
from Date of Hire or 10/1/1997, whichever is later.
Learning and Development
We support employees trying new things because we want employees
to find this to be a place where they really are excited about
what they are doing. We truly believe our employees are critical
to our vision for the future. Employees are encouraged to
take charge of their career development and career growth
and foster their learning by utilizing a variety of resources:
- Educational Assistance (Tuition Reimbursement)
Eligibility after 12 months of service.
- Registrations and Certifications (Fee Reimbursement)
These benefits provide employees with the opportunity to
acquire additional knowledge and skills that will enhance
job performance, maximize career potential and bring value
to BEM.
- Industry Sponsored Seminars and Conferences
Valuable tools that help provide employees with information
about advances and trends in the industry that are related
to an employee’s work activities.
- Lunchtime “Brown Bag” Seminars
A time for individual employees to share knowledge they
have gathered through attendance at seminars or conferences.
Bonuses/Awards
BEM believes in rewarding our employees for outstanding performance,
special achievement, and meeting or exceeding established
goals. Our bonus/award programs are designed to provide recognition
to individuals at all levels of the business. In addition,
employees are encouraged to recommend other talented professionals
to our team. The employee receives the referral bonus once
the referred individual is officially hired.
Paid Time Off
- Sick and Vacation Leave All employees
accrue six days sick leave and from two to four weeks of
vacation leave. You’ll earn three weeks after only
three years of service.
- Holidays BEM recognizes seven company
holidays.
- Bereavement Leave A paid absence of normally
3 days will be granted to an employee in the event of the
death of an immediate family member.
