45th Space Wing
Under the leadership of BEM's program management and
AFCEE's Contracting Officer's Technical Representative,
the BEM-AFCEE team has been instrumental in the development
of regulatory strategies that expedite decision-making
and deliver cost-effective, risk-based solutions. BEM
provides diverse Installation Restoration Program (IRP),
Construction/Remediation, Compliance, and Natural Resource
Conservation and Planning services to the 45th Space
Wing at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Patrick
Air Force Base.
Representative Services include:
 Environmental
baseline surveys
- Environmental site assessments
- Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) &
Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation
and Liability Act (CERCLA) Investigation & Feasibility
studies
- Ecological risk assessments and Human health risk
assessments
- Remedial design and corrective action plans
- Long-term operation and maintenance (LTO&M)
of remedial systems
- Interim measures / removal actions
- Construction & demolition
- Corrective measure implementations
For the Compliance branch of the 45th Space Wing, BEM
has managed petroleum compliance programs, storm water
management plans, emergency response contingency plans
under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know
Act, and waste minimization plans for investigative derived
wastes, and beneficial reuse plans for petroleum contaminated
soils.
In support of both Base land-use planning/Integrated
Natural Resource Management Plans and the IRP, BEM has
managed and performed threatened and endangered species
surveys, wetland delineations, and habitat restoration
studies.
