Brownfields Redevelopment

On brownfield projects, BEM supports both the public and private sectors at the strategic planning level, and provides traditional environmental investigation, risk assessment, and site planning services.

For the public sector, we have worked as a facilitator and environmental engineer on behalf of several municipalities receiving USEPA Brownfields Pilot and Showcase Community Grants. Others used alternative funding sources to plan and implement urban renewal programs for their communities.

For the private sector, we work with companies that have accumulated under-utilized and/or inactive contaminated properties, designing and implementing plans that convert non-performing sites and liabilities into productive or marketable assets. We also are successful in assisting both the private and the public sectors in identifying and realizing public funding sources for site cleanup and development.
