New Jersey Department of Transportation
The New Jersey Department of Transportation is improving
the drainage system along a major highway to alleviate
chronic flooding in an urban area of New Jersey. As
part of a Term-Agreement with NJDOT, BEM provided environmental
services in support of proposed construction. BEM’s
environmental studies identified 41 potentially contaminated
sites within the study area. These properties include
an active and former right-of-way railroad, abandoned
and active manufacturing sites, gasoline service stations,
commercial/residential properties, and sites contaminated
with radioactive materials.
