Air Quality Management
BEM has managed a variety of air quality and pollution
control activities for several clients. Typical projects
consist of the turnkey design, installation and startup
of pollution control systems that include the following
phases:
Conceptual
Engineering: Usually the first step in
the selection of air pollution control equipment
is to gather information used in the engineering
design phase, operational needs etc. BEM often
conducts field surveys of facilities to accurately
determine the locations of existing site structures,
and aboveground and subsurface utilities.
- Vendor Evaluation: In cases where
subcontractors are necessary, BEM diligently evaluates
vendors and technologies that are available, with
an eye on cost-effectiveness, efficiency, reliability
and flexibility.
- Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: BEM
evaluates the air permitting requirements of facilities
based on current and future emission inventories.
Our experience in air quality management has provided
us with an unparalleled understanding of federal,
state and local pollution regulations.
- Detailed Engineering: BEM conducts
the design/build phase of projects in accordance
with local building, fire and zoning regulations
and applicable engineering practices for air pollution
control equipment. BEM's project coordinators and
task leaders, supported by our computer-based data
and project management system, address all aspects
of the engineering designs.
- Construction: BEM provides field
procurement services to competitively award contracts
and purchase materials, coordinate bidders lists,
obtain bids, hold pre-bid and pre-award conferences,
and evaluate bids, recommending final selections.
BEM also establishes comprehensive startup and shakedown
procedures, ensuring that facilities are brought
online in a safe, orderly and well-planned manner.
