Environmental Multimedia Compliance Audits

BEM's approach to environmental audits goes beyond simply identifying areas of potential regulatory noncompliance and evaluating environmental implementation. Our goal is to conduct a thorough audit, then help our clients apply those findings as part of a successful compliance management program. Throughout the process, we look for ways to reduce costs, ensure compliance, and avoid potential liabilities.

BEM has conducted environmental audits for a broad range of industrial clients, evaluating the full spectrum of environmental media. We inspect clients' facilities to determine the types and quantities of chemical and raw materials used, activities and operations conducted, and the nature of waste materials generated and discharged at the facility. Generally, the objectives of BEM's compliance-auditing program are to:

• Identify the environmental statutes and regulations that are applicable to our clients' facility operations, and document the facility's environmental compliance status;
• Evaluate the facility's environmental policies and procedures to determine compliance with relevant environmental statutes and regulations;
• Determine the potential risks and costs associated with any environmental regulatory non-compliance, if any, and
• Provide recommendations for achieving full environmental compliance based on the findings of the audit.
