Asbestos Management
BEM provides comprehensive asbestos assessment, abatement
design and oversight services in compliance with federal,
state and local regulations, including Asbestos Hazard Emergency
Response Act (AHERA) Guidelines. Specific areas of expertise
within our asbestos management group include:
- Comprehensive asbestos surveys and risk prioritization
- Analysis of suspect material for asbestos content
- Airborne asbestos fiber monitoring
- Material labeling and re-inspections
- Preparation of site-specific O&M plans

GIS capability and a database management program to implement
facility-wide or multi-facility asbestos management audits,
and survey software to effectively compile, organize, map
and present data. This data management system prioritizes
the findings, and assists project designers in recommending
abatement methods and estimating cost data. This unique approach
is extremely helpful in developing plans and specifications
for renovation, expansion and construction contracts where
abatement may be necessary as part of an overall project
