Industrial Hygiene and Safety
Indoor Air Quality/Building Sciences (IAQ)
BEM's state-of-the-art approach to IAQ investigations involves
proactive due diligence and response evaluations of the potential
sources of indoor contaminants. This is achieved by inspecting
building systems and maintenance practices, then implementing
a well-conceived sample analysis plan. BEM's IAQ specialists
interview building managers, engineers, and occupants to customize
our investigation based on their concerns, health symptoms,
maintenance practices, and historical building data obtained.
BEM's experience, expertise, and multi-disciplinary resources
enable us to identify potential contaminant sources, create
effective alternatives for remediation, and recommend actions
to improve a building's IAQ, often while conserving building
energy in the process.
Our interdisciplinary team of seasoned professionals includes
Certified Industrial Hygienists; Professional Engineers specializing
in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) and other
building systems; environmental toxicologists/scientists;
public health specialists; environmental chemists; environmental
sampling specialists; and building trades professionals.
A leader in the field of IAQ, BEM:
- Has performed over 300 comprehensive IAQ/Mold Amplification
Assessment investigations;
- Has produced several nationwide seminars on mold assessment,
litigation and control;
- Is an expert in technical litigation support associated
with indoor mold exposures, and
- Maintains an expansive in-house inventory of tools for
accurate and cost-effective data collection. This includes
