Design
The
philosophy of BEM’s engineering and design group
is to minimize client risks through state-of-the-art
execution and project management. We understand regulatory
requirements and translate them to cost-effective designs,
while applying the most applicable solutions for achieving
specific client objectives and delivering solutions
that are protective of human health and the environment.
On many projects, our design work is an extension of
the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS)
process. On other projects, these activities are completed
in conjunction with the development of new hazardous
waste management facilities or upgrades and expansion
of existing facilities. BEM engineers are thoroughly
familiar with the design requirements of both RCRA and
CERCLA, as well as those of many state environmental
agencies.
Our across-the-board environmental services expertise
gives BEM engineers a unique perspective on remedial
design, enabling them to recognize potential problems
during preliminary design phases and incorporate appropriate
measures to prevent any future problems that might occur.
BEM design engineers and draftspersons use state-of-the-art
computer-aided drafting and engineering design software,
including both the AutoCAD and Intergraph packages.
These tools are invaluable in expediently and cost-effectively
solving unique engineering problems encountered in most
remediation projects.
